Welcome to The Basement Thomist — part notebook, part soapbox, but totally Catholic. Here I will document my journey into Catholic philosophy, theology, and tradition.

I'm a software engineer by day, and an armchair scholastic by night. I was a terrible student and neglected my faith for over a decade, but now I am trying to make up for lost time and delving into the rich tradition of Catholic thought. I hope to share my thoughts and discoveries here, and maybe even help others on their own journeys.

I'll offer a disclaimer here, I am not classically trained in logic, philosophy, theology, or anything. I have no real credentials. I'm just a reformed slacker. If you see anything in my writing that is incorrect, please let me know!.
